This theme, an Ecommerce theme “like no other”, includes virtually every feature imaginable needed to create a stunning, easy to navigate, online store. The guys from SwiftIdeas –a Themeforest Power Elite Author- are giving you the chance to win an Atelier license. Read on to find out how.
To list all of Atelier’s features would fill this page. If you narrow this discussion down to those features you would expect to find in an Ecommerce dedicated theme, there are many that are not present in other themes in this category, and more than a few are unique to Atelier.
First, you can use its Demo Content importer to import one of its 7 high-quality pre-made layouts, and customize or build upon them as you wish. With Atelier, your client’s shop is ready in no time.
Want to start from scratch? You will see superb design quality and world class flexibility. This theme offers 3 page styles, 4 shop styles, 3 product page options, 10 header options, and 5 header styles, including animated page headers.
In addition, you are not provided with a single shopping cart feature; you are given three shopping cart styles.
Atelier also has something rarely found in other Ecommerce themes. It has both an A Class speed grade and an A class YSlow grade, which means that it is highly optimized.
Cart views, mobile filter selections, list views, and product pages all fit nicely on mobile displays. The selections of icon choices, font styles, theme options, and CSS3 animations are, to say the least, comprehensive, and the 7 high-quality pre-made layouts demonstrate the true power and flexibility incorporated in this theme.
You can win an Atelier license by logging in to Rafflecopter and following the instructions there. Can’t wait? Read more about Atelier by clicking the button below.

I am (finally) working on a mobile design for the main ecommerce website I run. As I started thinking about the layout of the site and of the home page, I wanted to see what approaches leading online retailers were taking for their mobile designs, and what ideas and best practices I could apply.
The sort of questions I was looking for feedback on were wide ranging, including: Would a short or a long home page be more effective for my customers? What balance should there be between providing category navigation on the home page and on presenting featured offers and products? Should the search box be open or closed by default? How many links should go in the footer?
So, I pulled together a showcase of over 100 mobile ecommerce home page designs, mainly taken from the larger online stores, as a source of inspiration.
I won’t claim that every one of these examples represents mobile home page design best practice, but they all caught my eye for one reason or another, and collectively, provide an insight into the current trends in ecommerce design for mobile devices.
To capture the screenshots, I used Chrome’s mobile emulation mode set to iPhone 6 to get a wider page width. This worked fine for the most part, except that I couldn’t hide the scroll bar on the right side of the page.
I’d love to know a better way to capture these types of screenshots, ideally on an iPhone 6 sized screen. These alternatives for capturing mobile website screenshots might be worth checking out too:
