How To Rapidly Create Your Own Script Font With Modular Shapes

We’re teaming up with Skillshare to bring you some fantastic premium design tutorials. In this post, you’ll see an excerpt from Spencer Charles’s Skillshare class on Lettering with Illustrator.

If you’ve ever tried to create a vector script in Illustrator before, you know that it can be super tedious. That’s why watching Spencer work is so fascinating to me. He shows you how to create simple, reusable shapes that can be expanded to form your entire alphabet in a much shorter amount of time than if you drew each letter individually. Whether you’re interested in lettering or not, it’s worth a watch for his impressive Pen Tool skills alone!
