This Award-Winning Video Will Inspire You To Use Your Camera More

“If nature was my savior, then photography was my soulmate.”

Filipe DeAndrade’s “Adapt” won NatGeo Wild’s second annual Wild To Inspire filmmaking competition at the Sun Valley Film Festival which took place March 4 through 8 in Idaho.

Chosen as a Vimeo Staff Pick, “Adapt” is just over four minutes of staggering timelapses, remarkable nature shots and Filipe’s own moving story.

As part of his first-place prize, winner Filipe Deandre will be heading on an expedition to Africa for National Geographic and the African Wildlife Foundation, taking on the wild on the other side of the Atlantic.

“I am truly humbled and inspired to win this competition. In order to protect something you have to love it, and I cannot wait to use this opportunity to further the missions of Nat Geo WILD, AWF and Sun Valley, and bring back a story from Africa that will inspire others to love the natural world as much as I do,” DeAndrade said.
